"Lovely Lucky L" - Lions, Ladybugs, and Lollipops.
Day 1: L is for Lion
Focus: Introducing the letter shape and the /l/ sound (where the tongue touches the roof of the mouth)
Lesson: Introduce the letter L. It’s a tall line with a little foot! Practice the "l-l-l" sound.
Craft: Fork-Painted Lion. Use a plastic fork dipped in orange and yellow paint to create a "wild" mane around a yellow circle face.
Activity: The Lion Hunt. Hide "L" objects around your backyard. Have the children "prowl" through the grass like lions to find them.

Song: Listen to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
Snack: Lemon-flavored yogurt or Lion crackers (round crackers with pretzel stick manes).
Day 2: L is for Ladybug
Focus: Counting and fine motor skills.
Lesson: Discuss ladybugs. Talk about how they help Luck in the garden.
Craft: Fingerprint Ladybugs. Paint a red circle and let children use their index fingers to add black "L-L-Little" spots.
Activity: Ladybug Launch. Use red balloons with black spots. See how long the children can keep their ladybug in the Loft (air) without it touching the ground.

Snack: Ladybug Toast (bread with strawberry jam and a few blueberries for spots).
Day 3: L is for Leaves & Lavender
Focus: Sensory exploration and nature.
Lesson: Head out to your backyard to look at the new Leaves appearing on the trees.
Craft: Leaf Rubbings. Use various Leaves found in the yard. Place them under paper and rub with crayons to see the "L-L-Lines" of the leaf.
Activity: Lavender Sensory Bin. Fill a bin with lavender colored rice. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil. Hide Large and Little letter Ls inside for the kids to find.

Day 4: L is for Lollipop & Laughter
Focus: Shapes, colors, and joy.
Lesson: Discuss the "L-L-Long" sound. Talk about what makes us Laugh.
Craft: Paper Plate Lollipops. Decorate paper plates with colorful swirls. Tape a "L-L-Long" cardboard tube or stick to the bottom.
Activity: The Laughter Circle. Sit in a circle. One person starts with a tiny "Ha!" and the next person adds another "Ha!" until everyone is Laughing out Loud.

Snack: Lollipops (as a special treat) or Long cheese sticks.
Day 5: L is for Love & Light
Focus: Social-emotional learning and review.
Lesson: Review all "L" words: Lion, Ladybug, Leaf, Lollipop. Talk about how we show Love to our friends and family.
Craft: Lanterns of Light. Use yellow tissue paper and glass jars (or plastic cups) to create lanterns that catch the Light.
Activity: Little/Large Sort. Give the children a pile of toys and have them sort them into two piles: Little and Large.
